We are proud to present Tom Carruth as our keynote speaker of the year.  Tom is a world famous creator of many of the world’s most favorite roses.  Retired as Head Hybridizer from Weeks Roses, he is now the Curator of the Huntington Rose Garden.

Tom is the inventor of over 75 plant patents and he accumulated 11 AARS Award Winners in just 14 years.
While at Weeks Roses, the  AARS Award Winners to emerge from Tom’s hybridizing work include:  the 2011 Winner, Dick Clark, which he co-hybridized with assistant Christian BédardCinco de Mayo™ (2009), Strike It Rich® (2007); Julia Child (2006); Wild Blue Yonder (2006); About Face (2005); Memorial Day (2004); Hot Cocoa (2003); Betty Boop (1999); Fourth of July (1999) and Scentimental (1997).

Since his retirement from Weeks, Tom has been busy as Curator transforming the Rose Gardens at the Huntington into a showcase of beauty.   Under his direction  many of the beds have been renovated and updated.  Watch the video below for a preview.
