Amador Senior Center, 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson CA

Our June 7th meeting features award winning Master Rosarian Kitty Belendez and her special full-color PowerPoint presentation “Kaleidoscope of Fabulous Floribundas.”   Kitty is a powerhouse rose grower and exhibitor in Southern California.

Kitty Belendez

Kitty Belendez and her husband Bob have been growing roses since 1985. They currently grow about 280 roses of all types on a small tract home lot in Santa Clarita, California. Kitty is a Master Rosarian, Horticultural Rose Judge,  President of Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society, Editor of the award winning SCV newsletter and avid photographer. They both enjoy exhibiting their roses at shows throughout Southern California.

Kitty and Bob have a large collection of about 60 floribunda bushes. Most are grown in the ground, but some are grown in large 20-gallon containers because of space limitations. Bob has grafted all on Fortuniana rootstock. She also grows a lovely collection of tree roses, most of which are floribundas. All of her roses are her favorites, and her most favorite floribundas are Playgirl, Fabulous, Lavaglut, Golden Holstein, and her own three roses (all rose sports) Puanani, Cristina Lynne, and her new introduction this year, Glitter Girl.

The June 7th meeting at 1:30 PM featuring Kitty Belendez is a special opportunity to learn more about fabulous floribundas from one of California’s premier rose growers.  This meeting is free and open to the public.  Bring a friend!
