The Mother Lode Rose Society will host this interesting speaker at their meeting on May 3- 2016 @ 1:30 P.M. At the Amador Senior Center 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson, California.

Nature is filled with “good bugs, crawling and flying creatures” whose diet consists of munching on the pests that ravage your garden plants.

This meeting will give you the information and advice that you need to keep the good bugs in your yard and eliminate the spraying of chemicals which kills the “good “bugs and as well as the “bad’ ones. This speaker is an amazing “down” to earth person as he talks abut plants that attract the lacewing, ladybugs, hoverflies and other beneficials.

Favorite plants that attract the “good guys” are yarrow, dill, marguerite, dandelions and many more.

He may even include information on roses that grow in your area.

Lifetime Master Gardener Fred Hoffman is the host of the KFBK Garden Show on NewsTalk 1530 KFBK in Sacramento each Sunday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Get Growing on Talk 650 KSTE in Sacramento, 10 a.m. to noon.
