Amador Senior Center, 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson CA
The popularity of Rose photography is one of the fastest growing segments of the rose hobby. Rose enthusiasts have discovered regardless of the season or size of their garden, if they photograph beautiful blooms and gardens they can enjoy them all year round.
We are delighted to have award winning Master Rosarian Ellie Longanecker as our featured speaker on Mar., 7, sharing her tips in “Hit Me with Your Best Shot – Garden Photography.” Ellie is Past-President of the Sacramento Rose Society, American Rose Society Horticultural and Arrangement Judge, and Founder of Friends of the McKinley Rose Garden, where she initiated and was instrumental in the renovation of this historic park. Under her direction, and in conjunction with Friends of East Sacramento, the McKinley Rose Garden has been transformed into a place of beauty enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors.
Ellie will be sharing simple tips for better photography. Some of the topics include cropping, lighting, and helpful accessories/equipment that are easy on the pocketbook. Though a fancy camera is always nice, she will share how easy it is to take award winning photographs on your iPhone, Android or tablet. In fact at the Marin Rose Show, she won Best Photograph with a picture taken with her iPhone.
Whether you want to learn how to take award winning rose photographs for the next show, or simply how to take better pics of family, friends and scenery, this program is for you!
The Member’s Minute for March will be Rosy References, presented by Beverly Rose Hopper. Info and helpful resources for looking up information on all types of roses.
