Tue., May 2 at 1:30 PM, “Rose Propagation” by Kim Rupert
Amador Senior Center, 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson CA
We are honored to have one of the premier rose authorities as our featured speaker for May – Kim Rupert of Santa Maria – who will be demonstrating various methods of rose propagation. Rupert has been referred to as a “walking encyclopedia of roses,” well known and respected in both the heritage rose world and the modern rose community for his wealth of knowledge, and we are delighted he is able to journey to our neck of the woods to share his expertise. In the heritage rose community, enthusiasts often preserve and protect endangered varieties and trade hard-to-get favorites by various types of propagation, and in Rupert’s program he will demonstrate several methods including his “burrito” style of wrapping. In addition to his work with extensive work with rose preservation, as a volunteer at The Huntington Rose Garden, he is also a respected rose hybridizer.
